The Hawaii Tropics return home for a four game series against the Vancouver Mounties at Diamond Head. The Trops sit at 38-27 atop the Pacific Division of the Frick.



Game 1- The Tropics score a run in the ninth to tie the game then walk it off with a Gary Allen two run homer to take the series opener against the Mounties.

Allen finished the day 2 for 5 with two runs scored and two RBI.

Hawaii Ace Alaric Wullenweber pitched six solid innings giving up two runs on five hits, a walk and struck out nine.

Hawaii wins 4-2.



Game 2- The Tropics out score the Mounties in a slugfest at Diamond Head. Hawaii struck for a run in the first then blew it open in the second with a big seven run inning. The Mounties responded with six in the third before everything quieted down for a bit. Hawaii scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth for a much needed cushion because the Mounties scored two runs in the top of the ninth before RP Luis Santiago came on to stop the bleeding for the Tropics.

Hawaii SP Stephen Taub could only get through two innings as he was beat up by the Mounties. He allowed five runs on five hits while waking three.

CF Manny Garcia was 4 for 4 with a double, a walk and three runs scored for the Tropics.

DH Ernest McBride was 2 for 5 with a double, a homer, a run scored and five RBI.

RF Mike Campbell was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and three RBI.



Hawaii wins 12-9.



Game 3- Vancouver SP and former Tropic Luis Torres allowed Hawaii just three hits and a run in 8 1/3 innings as the Mounties win one in Hawaii.

Hawaii SP Jesus Gonzalez gave his teammates a decent effort allowing three runs on eight hits and three walks. He struck out seven but takes the loss.

SS Ernesto Angel was 1 for 3 with an RBI.



Vancouver wins 6-1.



Game 4- Hawaii SP Zak Johnson allows a run on two hits in 6 2/3 and LF Bronx ‘Little Bron’ Cortez was 2 for 3 with two RBI as the Tropics win the series.

Johnson walked a batter and struck out eight to improve to 8-1 this season with a 3.26 ERA.

C Ron Shiplack was 2 for 4 with a double, a run and an RBI.



Hawaii wins 5-3.



Hawaii gets a day off at home before hosting the Sacramento Mad Popes in a short two game series at Diamond Head.



Game 1- The Hawaii Tropics pummel the Mad Popes with five runs in the first and six in the second to cruise to a series opening win. Ron Shiplack and LF Jose Camacho combined for 10 RBI for the Tropics offense.

Shiplack was 3 for 4 with a double, a Grand Slam, a walk, three runs scored and six RBI.

Camacho was 2 for 2 with two homers, three walks, three runs scored and four RBI.

SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani settled in with his big lead and allowed a run on four hits, a walk and struck out eight in six innings. He improved to 3-8 on the season and lowers his ERA to 4.32.



Hawaii wins 13-4.



Game 2- Wullenweber and company shut down the Mad Popes to give the Tropics a two game series sweep. Wullenweber gives up a run on four hits, a walk while striking out eight. He improves to 9-3 with a 2.79 ERA.

Ernest McBride was 2 for 2 with two solo homers and two walks.

Ron Shiplack was 2 for 3 with a double, a run and two RBI.

Mike Campbell was for 4 with a solo homer and two runs scored.



Hawaii wins 6-1.
