The Hawaii Tropics get a travel day to return home and ready themselves for a four game series against the Twin Cities River Monsters at Diamond Head.



Game 1- The River Monsters score three runs in the first off of Alaric Wullenweber but the Tropics respond with five runs in three innings to take the lead for good. Wullenweber settled down and ended up with 6 2/3 innings pitched with five runs on eight hits, a walk and struck out eleven batters. He wins hist 7th game with a 3.13 ERA this season.

RF Mike Campbell led the Hawaii Offense going 4 for 4 wing a homer, two doubles, two runs scored and drove in five.



Hawaii wins 10-5.



Game 2- The Tropics and River Monsters go extras ties at 3-3. Twin Cities scores two runs in the top of the tenth but the Tropics respond with two of their own. The game remained tied until the bottom of the twelfth when 1B Gary Allen a walkoff solo home run.

DH Ernest McBride had a two homer game driving in three runs and scoring three runs. He ended 2 for 2 and was also walked three times.

RP Luis Santiago pitched the final two innings giving up just two hits, a walk and struck out four. He earned the win and is 4-2 on the season.



Hawaii wins 6-5.



Game 3- The Rivers Monsters stifle the Hawaii offense allowing a run on seven hits and score a run in the eighth and two In the ninth to pull away. Hawaii SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani has made some needed adjustments and had a better start. He went 6 1/3 innings giving up two runs on five hits and walked two. He struck out three but still falls to 1-7 on the season with a 4.50 ERA.

3B Fernando Rodriguez was 2 for 3 with an RBI triple.



Twin Cities wins 5-1.



Game 4- Hawaii Starter Zak Johnson is earning his pay this season as he shuts down the River Monsters through six innings. He gave up just three hits, walked two and struck out seven. He improves to 5-1 with a 3.84 ERA.

Mike Campbell was 2 for 4 with a triple with a run and an RBI.

Hawaii wins 4-0 and wins the series 3-1.



The Tropics get another visit from a Heartland team as the Louisville Sluggers hit the island for a four game series at Diamond Head.



Game 1- The Sluggers score runs in all but two innings as they double up the Tropics in the series opener. Hawaii SP Bob McConnell was roughed up by the Sluggers allowing seven runs on nine hits and two walks. He struck out three in 2 1/3 innings of work.

C Ron Shiplack was 3 for 4 with a double, a run and two RBI.

Gary Allen was 2 for 5 with a homer, two runs scored and an RBI.



Louisville wins 16-8.



Game 2- Hawaii Pitcher Stephen Taub has been the Tropics Swiss Army knife for the last two seasons. He has started, been the long man and a stopper. He got the call against the Sluggers with the Tropics down in the series 1-0. Taub gave the Tropics 5 1/3 innings giving up three runs on seven hits. He walked four and struck out three. He gets his first win of the season and sports a 3 .40 ERA.

Gary Allen was 3 for 4 with a homer, two runs and an RBI.

Mike Campbell was 1 for 3 with a three run homer.



Hawaii wins 7-4.



Game 3- Nick Destefani has another good start and the Tropics score four runs in the bottom of the sixth to tale the lead for good. Destefani pitched seven solid innings allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits, a walk and six strikeouts. He improves to 2-7 with a 4.16 ERA.

CF Manny Garcia was 3 for 3 with a homer, a run scored and two RBI.

SS Fernando Rodriguez was 1 for 3 with a run scored and two RBI.



Hawaii wins 5-2.



Game 4- The Tropics blow a 11-2 lead to the Louisville Sluggers to end the series in a 2-2 split. Hawaii seemed to have a comfortable lead after five innings when the Sluggers struck for one in sixth, one in the seventh and seven in the eighth to shock the Tropic faithful. Zak Johnson pitched the first five innings allowing three runs on four hits and a walk. He struck out five batters in the no decision.

Mike Campbell was 3 for 5 with a homer, a run scored and five RBI.

LF Jose Camacho was 3 for 5 with a homer, two runs scored and two RBI.



Louisville wins 12-11.
