The Hawaii Tropics make a visit to the Windy City for a three game series against the Black Sox at Black Sox Park.



Game 1- This game was scheduled to start on Tuesday but was postponed and re-scheduled as a double header on Wednesday. The Black Sox allow just three hits and a run as they take the opener.

Tropics SP Jesus Gonzalez pitched 6 innings allowing 2 runs on 8 hits, a walk and struck out 4 but takes the loss.

DH Ernest McBride was 1 for 3 with an RBI.



Chicago wins 2-1.



Game 2- In the nightcap, the Black Sox replicate their first game performance and three hit the Tropics and sweep the double header.

SP Zak Johnson pitched 6 inning giving up 3 runs on 4 hits, a walk and struck out 4 batters in the loss.

2B Jack “Junkyard” Nichols was 1 for 3 with an RBI.



Chicago wins 4-1.



Game 3- To add to the Tropics woes, the Black Sox snuff out the Hawaii rally then walk it off to sweep the series.

Chicago took advantage of three walks from Tropics SP Alaric Wullenweber and scored 4 runs to chase him from the game early. Wullenweber pitched 5 2/3 innings and also gave up 5 hits while striking out 5.

RF Mike Campbell was 2 for 5 with a run and an RBI.

LF Bastiao Fardos was 1 for 4 with a solo homer, a run and two RBI.



Chicago wins 5-4.



The Tropics make their last stop on the road trip with a three game series against the Valencia Stars at Honigsfeld Field.



Game 1- The Tropics end their skid on the arm of Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani and the bat of Ernest McBride. Destefani pitched 6 1/3 strong innings allowing just 5 hits, a walk and struck out 6. The game was tied when McBride hit a big three run homer in the eighth to put the Tropics up for good. McBride was 2 for 4 on the day with a run, four RBI and a stolen base.

Bastiao Fardos looks to be heating up going 3 for 4 with a single, double, triple and three runs scored.

C Ron Shiplack was 1 for 4 with a solo homer, a run and two RBI.



Hawaii wins 6-2.



Game 2- The Stars and Tropics brawl as Alberto ‘Tricky’ Chavez hits two Tropics. The second got him and Hawaii 1B Gary Allen ejected. Allen never got close to Chavez as he was tackled by Stars C Javier Gallo.

Allen said after the game, “I lost my temper a bit. I shouldn’t have let a guy that should be in the UMEBA get under my skin.”

SP Bob McConnell was battered around a bit going 5 innings and surrendering 5 runs on 7 hits, 2 walks while striking out just 1.

Fardos was 2 for 4 with a triple and a homer. He scored a run and drove in a run.



Valencia wins 5-3.



Game 3- Hawaii LF Bastiao Fardos put on a hitting show against the Stars and led the Tropics to a series win. Fardos was 4 for 4 with three homers, a double, four runs and a Hawaii regular season game record 8 RBI.

Ernest McBride was 2 for 4 with a solo homer and two runs scored.

SS Fernando Rodriguez was 3 for 5 with a double, two runs and two stolen bases.

Jesus Gonzalez has struggled a bit after his injury the last two starts. He pitched 2/3 innings giving up 5 runs on 7 hits, 3 walks and struck out 4.



Hawaii wins 11-5.
