The Hawaii Tropics host the Seattle Storm for a four game series at Diamond Head.



Game 1- Seattle Starter Yasir bin Lufti throws a 2 hit shutout as the Storm take the opener against the Tropics.

Hawaii SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani gave a great effort in the loss going 7 innings and giving up 2 runs on 3 hits, 2 walks while striking out 10 batters.

2B Jack “Junkyard” Nichols was 1 for 2 and C Enrique Dominguez] was 1 for 3 to record the only hits for the Tropics.



Seattle wins 2-0.



Game 2- The Seattle pitching staff has so far dominated the Hawaii hitters. This time it was
Ken Walter. Walter allowed a solo homer by Tropics LF Bastiao Fardos in the first inning then shut down Hawaii the through 8 innings to get the win.

Hawaii SP Alaric Wullenweber pitched 6 2/3 innings giving up 4 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits, a walk and struck out 11 batters.



Seattles wins 4-1.



Game 3- The Storm take the lead in the Pacific as Hawaii hitters continue their poor showing. Seattle Starter Hector ‘Gauntlet’ Marquez crushed Hawaii hitters giving up just 1 run on 5 hits and 2 talks while he struck out 8 batters.

Tropics SP Bob McConnell was the latest victim of receiving no run support. He pitched 7 innings surrendering just 2 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks. He struck out just one batter.



Seattle wins 2-1.



Game 4- Hawaii hitters provide just enough run support to eke out a win to avoid being swept. SP Zak Johnson pitched 6 innings of shut out baseball giving up just 2 hits and a walk. He struck out 8 batters and wins his 6th game of the season.

RP Felipe Lopez (2/3 IP, hit, 2K), RP Douglas Wils (1 1/3 IP, hit, 2K) and RP Norm McConnell (IP, hit, Save) make the score stand.

1B Gary Allen was 1 for 4 with an RBI double.

C Ron Shiplack was 1 for 3 with an RBI.



Hawaii wins 2-0.



The Tropics hit the road again for a three game series against the Yellow Springs Nine at Utopia Field.



Game 1- The Tropics late May slump continues as they are shut down by Calos Valle. Valle allows just 2 hits and a walk. He struck out 5 batters on his way to win number 8 of the season.

Tropics SP Jesus Gonzalez gives up the only run of the game in 6 1/3 innings on 6 hits and a walk. He did strike out 10 batters but falls to 4-3 on the season.



Yellow Springs 1-0.



Game 2- The Tropics and Nine fight it out over 10 innings before Yellow Springs walks it off. Niccolo Destefani allowed no runs on 5 hits in 7 innings. He struck out 5 batters in a no decision.

DH Ernest McBride was 2 for 3 with a solo homer, a run and 2 RBI.



Yellow Springs wins 4-3.



Game 3- Again, the Tropics and Nine go extras but it all ends the same as Yellow Springs wins the game in the twelfth and sweep the series.

Bastiao Fardos broke out with a 4 for 5 day with a homer, double and two singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in one.

Ron Shiplack was 3 for 5 with a run scored.

Alaric Wullenweber pitched 7 innings, allowed 1 run on 3 hits, 3 walks and 5 strikes outs.



Yellow Springs wins 7-6.
