The Hawaii Tropics continue the early season road trip making their next stop at the Sacramento Mad Popes. The Tropics will play a four game series with the Mad Popes at South Pacific Field.



Game 1- The Tropics tie the game in the top of the ninth on a Sacramento error but the Mad Popes walk it off with a run scoring single off the bat of Bayou Hakki to take the series opener.

Tropics SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani pitched 5 1/3 innings and surrender 4 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits and 5 walks while striking out just 1.

SS Fernando Rodriguez was 2 for 4 with a double, 2 runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base.

CF Ronnie Hubbard was also 2 for 4 with a double, a run, an RBI and a stolen base.



Sacramento wins 6-5.



Game 2- The Tropics score 4 runs early then withstand a late Sacramento rally to even the series.

Tropics SP Bob McConnell pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits and struck out 4 batters. He earns his first win of the 2044 season.

1B Gary Allen was 2 for 3 with a 2 run homer, a double, 2 runs scored, 2 RBI and a walk.

Ronnie Hubbard was 2 for 4 with a runs cored.



Hawaii wins 4-3.



Game 3- Hawaii Ace Alaric Wullenweber allows 1 hit and 2 runs (1 earned) in 7 1/3 innings of work. He walked 2 and struck out 6 in his first win of the season.

RF Mike Campbell had a big game going 5 for 5 with 2 homers, a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored 4 runs.

Fernando Rodriguez had another 2 for 4 day with a run, an RBI, a walk and a stolen base.

Gary Allen was 3 for 5 with a double, a run and an RBI.

RP Felipe Lopez continued his roller coaster ride with 1 2/3 innings of hitless baseball. He struck out 4 batters.



Hawaii wins 8-2.



Game 4- Hawaii DH Ernest McBride and RF Mike Campbell powered the Tropics to their third straight win. McBride was 3 for 3 with a homer, double, single, 2 runs, an RBI and 2 walks. Campbell was 3 for 5 with a homer, triple, single, 2 runs and 2 RBI.

SP Zak Johnson set the tone from the mound going 7 innings allowing 3 runs on 9 hits and struck out 5 batters.

LF Bastiao Fardos was 2 for 4 with a 2 run homer, with a run, 2 RBI and a walk.



Hawaii wins 9-3 and win the series 3-1.



The Tropics finish their road trip with a three game series with the Vancouver Mounties at Northwoods Outpost.



Game 1- Mounties SP Gustavo Hernandez stifled the Tropics offense allowing just 4 hits and 2 runs. He worked around 3 walks and struck out 2 batters.

Hawaii SP Jesus Gonzalez pitched 6 2/3 innings surrendering 5 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits and struck out 6 batters.

CF Ronnie Hubbard did the most damage of any Tropics hitter going 1 for 2 with a homer, 2 runs, an RBI, a walk and a stolen base.



Vancouver wins 5-2.



Game 2- Hawaii 1B Gary Allen was 4 for 4 with a double and 6 RBI as he leads the Tropics to a win to tie the series at 1-1. SP Niccolo Destefani kept the Mounties at bay with 6 innings of work allowing 1 run on 5 hits, 2 walks and striking out 4 batters.

Ronnie Hubbard was 3 for 3 with 3 runs and a walk.

C Ron Shiplack was 3 for 4 with a walk and 3 runs scored.

Bastiao Fardos was 2 for 4 with a double, a walk, 2 runs and 2 RBI.



Hawaii wins 13-3.



Game 3- The Mounties subdue the Tropics in the rubber game to take the series. Tropics pitching couldn’t get the big outs when needed. SP Bob McConnell was hammered with 7 hits (3 homers) for 6 runs (5 earned). He struck out 3.

The bad Felipe Lopez made an appearance going just 2/3 of an inning and giving up 2 runs.

Hawaii 3B Miguel Rodriguez was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles, a run and an RBI.

Ernest McBride was 3 for 4 with a solo homer and a double.



Vancouver wins 10-4 and takes the series 2-1.
