The Hawaii Tropics host the Portland Lumberjacks in a three game series at Diamond Head.



Game 1- Hawaii Starter Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani allows only 1 hit over 6 2/3 innings as the Tropics cruise to a win. Destefani struck out 5 batters and improved to 13-7 this season with a 4.00 ERA.

3B Gary Allen has been very good since finding his lucky batting gloves. He was 2 for 5 with a triple and a homer. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.

RF Mike Campbell continues his solid play going 2 for 3 with a triple, homer, 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. He also hit a sac fly.

Hawaii wins 13-0.



Game 2- Tropics DH Ernest McBride drove in 4 runs and SP Jesus Gonzalez allows 1 run in 6 1/3 innings as the Tropics take another game from the Lumberjacks.

McBride was 2 for 3 with 2 homers to put him at 50 on the season. He walked and scored 3 runs. He is hitting .335 with 134 RBI.

Gary Allen homered again going 3 for 4 with a run and 3 RBI.

Gonzalez upped his record to 14-8 with a 4.67 ERA.



Hawaii wins 10-5.



Game 3- Tropics Ace Alaric Wullenweber allows a run on 2 hits over 8 1/3 innings as Hawaii dominates the Lumberjacks in the finale. Wullenweber struck out 7 batters and walked 2. He is now 12-10 with a 3.61 ERA.

Ernest McBride was 3 for 5 with another 2 homer game. He also threw in a triple to show off his speed. He scored 4 runs and drove in 6.



Hawaii wins 10-1 and sweep the series. Tropics pitching allowed only 6 runs on 15 hits in the three game series.



The Tropics hit the road for a three game series with the Vancouver Mounties at the Northwoods Outpost.



Game 1- RF Mike Campbell and C Steffen Peterson homer to lead the Tropics to a win in the series opener.

SP Zak Johnson pitched 7 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs on 9 hits, a walk and struck out 2 batters. He improves to 11-10 with a 4.24 ERA.

Ernest McBride was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, a run and an RBI.



Hawaii wins 7-3.



Game 2- The Tropics score in all but 2 innings while the bullpen contributes to the win. Hawaii uses 7 relievers and allow 2 run on 7 hits. They issued 1 walk and struck out 4 batters.

Ernest McBride was 3 for 5 and hit another homer. He now has 53 on the season. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2.

C Ron Shiplack was 4 for 5 with a run and an RBI.

CF Ronnie Hubbard was 2 for 3 with a homer, a run and 2 RBI.



Hawaii wins 9-2.



Game 3- The Mounties end the Tropics win streak on a 5 hits shutout by Quentin Mullins. Mullins walked 4 and struck out 2 over 6 innings.

Gary Allen managed a 2 for 4 day off of Vancouver pitching.

Nick Destefani allowed 4 runs on 7 hits and struck out 7 batters over 5 and 2/3. He falls to 13-8 with a 4.07 ERA.



Vancouver wins 4-0 and Hawaii wins the series 2-1.

Hell of a week for McBride...11-31 with nine extra base hits and 12 RBI...that's a month of production for some guys
