The Tropic News 2043.12
The Tropics make their next stop in Louisville for a three game series with the Sluggers at Kentucky Truck Plant Stadium.
Game 1- Sluggers DH Antonio Lopez hits 2 of the 3 Louisville homers off of Tropics SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani to take the series opener.
Destefani allowed 4 runs over 6 2/3 innings on 5 hits, 4 walks and he struck out 3 batters.
RF Mike Campbell was 1 for 3 and doubled in 2 of the Tropics 3 runs.
Louisville wins 4-3.
Game 2- Tropics CF Ronnie Hubbard singles, triples and homers in 4 at bats against his former team and SP Zak Johnson allows 2 runs in 6 innings of work to even the series.
Hubbard scored 3 runs, drove in 2 and stole a base.
Hubbard said, “I enjoyed playing in Louisville and will always cherish it. The Tropics are fun to play for and this was a fun win.”
Johnson surrendered 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2 batters. He is now 5-4 with a bloated 5.45 ERA.
3B Gary Allen was 2 for 4 with a homer, a run, 3 RBI and a stolen base.
Hawaii wins 6-2.
Game 3- Louisville falls behind 5-0 early but scratch their way back and take the series 2 games to 1.
SP Stephen Taub has pitched well this season but struggled to hold the lead he was given in this one. He allowed 6 runs on 6 hits and a walk. He gave up 3 homers and the Tropics as a team allowed 4. Taub falls to 2-3 with a 3.86 ERA.
Mike Campbell was 3 for 5 with a run and an RBI.
DH Ernest McBride hit a 2 run homer, his 20th of the season.
1B Manuel Aguilar, Jr. was 2 for 5 and hit a solo homer.

2B Miguel Rodriguez was 1 for 2 a walk and a solo homer.
Louisville wins 7-6.
The Tropics finish up their 10 game road trip with a four game series with the Long Beach Surfers at Vito Constantino Memorial Stadium.
Game 1- Tropics continue their poor play as they allow 4 runs in the sixth and 3 in the seventh and fall to the Surfers in the opener.
SP Jesus Gonzalez pitched 5 shutout innings against the Surfers before the wheels fell off. He finished with 6 2/3 innings, 6 runs allowed, 10 hits, 2 walks and struck out 8. He allowed 2 homers.
Tropics Pitching Coach Tony Torres said, “Our entire staff is making too many mistakes in the zone. We are gonna work with everyone to get this fixed.”
Mike Campbell was 2 for 4 with a slow homer. Campbell and Hubbard also had OF assists in the game.
Long Beach wins 7-2.
Game 2- The Tropics turn things around in the second game as SP Alaric Wullenweber pitched 6 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 4 hits, a walk and struck out 8 batters. RP Maxime Manceau pitched 2 clean Innings and was followed by a clean ninth by RP Norm McConnell.

LF Bastiao Fardos was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 runs, 2 RBI and a stolen base.
Hawaii wins 8-1.
Game 3- Surfers DH Gonzalo Martinez slugged a walk off solo homer off of Hawaii RP Douglas Wils to propel Long Beach to victory.
Nick Destefani pitched better than his last start going 6 2/3 innings surrendering 3 runs on 7 hits, 3 walks and struck out 4 batters in a no decision.
2B Jack “Junkyard” Nichols was 3 for 4 with a run.
Long Beach wins 4-3.
Game 4- The Tropics bats have gone silent for the last few games and they waste another start. Zak Johnson pitched 8 innings giving up 3 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits, a walk and struck out 5. But the Tropic Slayer, [url=https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 42215.html]Danya Tchekanov went 7 scoreless and the the Surfers bullpen wen the rest of the way as Long Beach wins the series 3-1.
Ernest McBride was 2 for 4 with a run scored.
