The Hawaii Tropics announce the signing of former Las Vegas Hustlers SS Miguel Rodriguez to a 2 year $32 million contract. According to sources, negotiations dragged on for months with the Rodriguez camp stuck on a 6 year length of a deal with Hawaii wanting no more than 2 years.
GM Jim Walker said, “We signed the guy we wanted. Miguel can play second, third and short. He gives us depth and flexibility in our lineup and defensively. He is insurance, expensive insurance.”
Marcel’s the Monkey Forecasting System projects Rodriguez to slash .257/.336/.365 with 20 doubles, 5 triples, 6 homers, 63 walks and 30 SB.
Tropics Manager Kelly Finley said, “Rdoriguez is a good player and should gives us a couple wins.”
