The Hawaii Tropics are proud to announce the 2042 Frick League Joe Gillstrom Newcomer of the Year is one of their own.1B/DH Ernest McBride had 23 1st place votes, 7 2nd, 1 3rd and 1 5th for a total of 262 points. CF Doeke Soethout pulled in 10 2nd, 10 3rd, 7 4th and a 5th place vote for 142 points to get second overall in voting.
McBride slashed .307/.384/.648 with 45 homers 120 RBI 108 Runs and 12 SB (2 CS).

McBride also earned the 2042 Frick League Charles Puckett Golden Bat Award.

SP Stephen Taub earned his first Frick League Yogi Zimmer Gold Glove Award. Taub had 35 Chances in 185 2/3 IP, 2 putouts, 33 assists, 2 double plays and no errors.
