The Tropic News 2042.29
The Hawaii Tropics play a four game series with the Twin Cities River Monsters at Lan O’Lakes Ball park.
Game 1- Recent River Monsters acquisition Chris Kelly one hits the Tropics through 4 innings of work then hands the ball over to Ragnar Lothbrok to complete the job. Lothbrok allowed jus 3 hits and a run over 5 innings and the Twin Cities Offense destroyed the Tropics pitching staff to take the opener.
LF Jose Camacho was 1 for 4 with a solo homer.
Hawaii SP Jesus Gonzalez went 4 1/3 innings surrendering 4 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. He stands at 10-10 on the season.
Twin Cities wins 10-1.
Game 2- SP Stephen Taub wins his 10th game of the season and RF Mike Campbell was 2 for 4 with his 32nd homer of the year to pace the Tropics in their 73rd win of the season.
Taub had 7 1/3 IP, 4 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks and 5 Ks.
C Ron Shiplack was 2 for 4 with a double, triple and 2 runs scored.
2B Jack “Junkyard” Nichols was 1 for 2 with 2 runs, an RBI and 2 walks.
Hawaii wins 6-3.
Game 3- SP Alaric Wullenweber dominated the River Monsters lineup and frustrated hitters all day. He pitched 7 2/3 innings allowing just 1 run on 4 hits, issued 2 walks and struck out 11 batters. Big Al improves to 13-9 with a 4.29 ERA.

CF Michel Noel, back up from AAA, had a big day going 3 for 5 with his first homer of the season, a double, 2 runs and 2 RBI.
C Ron Shiplack was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, a run and an RBI.
2B Jack Nichols was 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI.
Hawaii wins 8-1.
Game 4- Twin Cities were tied 3-3 going into the bottom of the sixth and score 3 runs to take the lead. Hawaii answers with 2 runs in the seventh to get within a run of the River Monsters at 6-5. Twin Cities then score 2 insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth and ensure a series split.
SP Zak Johnson was a bit better than the previous few games but still came up short. He pitched 5 1/3 innings and gave up 4 runs, 5 hits, 3 walks and struck out 5 batters, He falls to 9-11 with a gaudy 5.10 ERA.
Mike Campbell was 2 for 4 with his 33rd homer of the season, a run and an RBI.
Twin Cities wins 8-5.
The Tropics return home for a two game series with the Omaha Hawks at Diamond Head.
Game 1- LF Bastiao Fardos lets his bat do the talking going 2 for 3 with a Grand Slam. He scored a run, drove in 4 and walked twice.

The Hawaii Offense drew 8 walks and struck out 5 times in the game.
SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani continues to impress as he went 7 innings, gave up 5 hits, a run, a walk and 3 Ks. He improves to 6-2 with a 3.88 ERA.
Hawaii wind 6-3.
Game 2- It has taken a few games for 3B Gary Allen to work back into his routine after his injury and rehab. All his work paid off in this game as went 2 for 3 with a 2 run go ahead homer. He scored a run and added a walk.
Leonard Jones steeped in to play short and was 2 for 3 with a solo homer.
Jesus Gonzalez had a better go of it this game pitching 6 innings allowing a run on 6 hits and a couple of walks. He struck out 6 and won his 11th game of the season.
RP Norm McConnell looks to have gotten past his troubles as he took down his 27th save with a clean with a clean ninth inning.
Hawaii wins 4-1 and sweeps the short two game series.
