The Tropics sign RP Ricardo Baez to a 1 year $4.2 million dollar contract. Baez began his career in Long Beach and he has made stops in Huntsville, California, Calgary, Edmonton and Omaha.

He has a career record of 44-23 with 48 saves is 472 games. He posted a 3.43 ERA in 640 2/3 IP with a 6 Career WAR.

GM Jim Walker said of Baez. “Ricky gives us a good left on left option out of the pen. We will ease him into getting a chance to get some righties out. It will give us some options as the long season drags on. Before you ask question, Yes, we did overpay a bit but it is just a year.”

Third year Pitching Coach Tony Torres said, “Ricardo will gives us some innings at the back end. We need to get him confident in pitching inside on the right handers.”

I don’t know, I kind of like Baez. He’ll be decent against lefties, and during the 7th Inning Stretch he can sing “Diamonds and Rust.”

I'll be damned, here comes your ghost again.........I like the Priest version the best.

I was gonna go with "Drug Store Truck-Drivin' Man," but figured that might be too deep a track for most.
