The Hawaii Tropics are happy to announce the hiring of James Walker as their new General Manager. Jim Walker recently headed up the Istanbul Bosphorus of the United Middle East Baseball Association. Istanbul just won their first United Cup in Walker’s first season as GM.
Mr. Walker was asked about how he was offered the job. He said,”I was sitting in my office looking at the ‘Hog Board’ to see who we would offer arbitration. I get a call from a friend, that I won’t name, and he said that there was an opening in Hawaii. I reached out to my agent and he did his thing. Now, here I am.”
Mr. Walker was asked, “What changes would he make to the Tropics?”
Mr. Walker stated, “None. I came into Istanbul and just put guys into position to win. The pieces were already there. Coming to this team, it already has #1 Farm in the BBA. I am going to keep things the same. When you are given the keys to a Ferrari, drive it.”
With the competition so deep in the BBA it will be a tough road for Hawaii.
