2041.1 A Pair of All Stars

Post by nerfHerder » Tue Feb 04, 2020 8:58 pm

Gung-Ho and Norm McConnell represented the Tropics in the 2041 All Star Game. For LaFitte, it's another feather in his cap after a down season two seasons ago. Norm is pretty stoked too after losing his closer's job early in the season and then winning it back. Neither men played a significant role in the game, but were happy to be there anyway. Here's a closer look at each.

LaFitte is in his second season in Hawaii, and made his second appearance in the All Star game. As a Tropic, he has shown an ability to be a prolific base runner and a stolen base machine. While he strikes out a lot, he has hit for both gap power, and clearing the fence power. His OBP has been nothing to shake a stick at either. The fans love him, the clubhouse loves him, THE TEAM WANTS TO TRADE HIM.

McConnell has 19 saves in 21 opportunities and deserved his all star appearance as well. Norm blew those two saves early in the season and lost his job to young Felipe Lopez. Once Lopez showed he wasn't up to the task, McConnell took the reigns back and ran with it. On Pace for 40 saves yet again, Norm continues to climb the all time leaderboards in Hawaii.
