Stephen Taub
Taub has the benefit of having a resource to call when needed, his dad Steve Taub. When your dad had a career 3.47 ERA, you listen. In his fourth year as a starter, little Taub has continued his climb up the ranks as an above average pitcher. In 13 starts covering 85 innings, he is only 4-3 but has a 2.57 ERA. This is after a 16 win season just a year ago. His ERA continues to drop every year.

Luis Torres
Luis is in his sixth season, and looks to have finally figured it out. With five previous seasons hovering around a 5.00 ERA, he has it down to a 3.26 this season. he is also 5-5 while covering 77 1/3 innings in 13 starts. Not bad, but all involved are just waiting to see if he falters.

Zak Johnson
Zak has the highest potential of all of the pitchers currently in Hawaii. In fact, he has yet to reach his full potential. Not bad considering he has a 3.28 ERA to go along with his 5-3 record. He also has 13 starts so far, covering 79 2/3 innings. Not bad for a guy that the management wanted to have in AAA this season. Once he works out his control issues, look out.

Jermaine Clayton
Jermaine is a new member of the squad, signed over the winter to a two year deal. Currently on the IL due to finger blisters he's been battling all year, he's been steady as the fourth starter. In 11 starts, he is 3-3 with a 5.06 ERA in 58 2/3 innings. The ERA is not a true look at what he's doing. His FIP is 3.99, which is a lot more acceptable. Until he gets back it's been a bullpen day due to a lack of ML ready talent.

Patrick Patchett
The fifth spot has been a few guys, until the man Patchett fell into our lap. He has been nothing but steady in the fifth spot in the order. Through seven starts, he's 5-2 with a 3.02 ERA. He's covered 47 2/3 innings in those starts. So far so good. Hopefully he keeps it going.
Doesn't look like a number one rotation does it? No solid number one, just a couple number twos and fives. Has to be the least expensive rotation in the game. Will they keep it going? It sure will be fun to watch and find out.
