Stumbling through another disappointing season, the Tropics could sport an entirely new look next season, aside from maybe wearing their normal uniforms again. Many long time players are set for free agency or have options, and there isn't any shortage of young guys ready to make the jump. Let's take a closer look.
Free Agents
Rich Ayers, Lawrence Stokes, Martin Bacardi, Armando Lopez, Roberto Miranda, Juan Martinez, Ned Breur, Ignacio Marerro
Ayers and Stokes are tough calls for management. Ayers has always hit well, and is popular among fans. His price appears to be a little too steep at the moment though. Stokes just isn't the same guy since he missed a year and a half with a fractured elbow. He is also asking for a hefty sum that may be out of reach for the cash strapped Tropics. The rest of this group will more than likely be allowed to walk as well. Armando Lopez has a slight chance to return, but all of the rest don't want to talk.
Team Options
Pedro Hernandez
Hernandez was the guy brought back for Roberto Miranda. Not one of the best moves. He never really grabbed a hold of his spot. With Dave Tallent already on the big league club, Hernandez found his way to AAA, where he has continued to struggle. He's as good as gone.
So that's nine guys, with seven of them in Hawaii. That's a good amount of turnover, and you can bet they'll be filled form within. It will be fun to watch the Tropics continue to progress, whether it's good or bad. So hold tight Tropics fans. The road will be bumpy for awhile yet.

Miranda seems to have enjoyed the change in scenery from Nashville to Hawaii.

I always liked Hawk Hernandez, actually. He had a couple decent seasons for Hawaii, but kind of fell off the cliff.
