The Trops offense puts up 3 runs in the 1st inning on Madison starter Bob English and cruise to a series opening win. Hawaii RF Atsushi Gato did the damage against English when he clubbed a three-run blast (1). Gato was 2 for 2 on the day with his 1st homer of 2065. C Bob Webb smacked his 1st homer of the season in the 6th inning off Madison reliever Chris Stout.
Hawaii starter Nalany Ahotaein looked comfortable on the mound giving up just an unearned run on three hits and a walk. He fanned four in 5.1 innings to pick up his 1st win of the season. Ray Harrison earned his 3rd save with two scoreless innings. He gave up a hit, walked one and struck out one to seal the win.

Hawaii rookie Ken Davis was called up to replace injured starter Leland ‘Griz’ Rogers and made his 1st BBA start against the Madison Wolves. Davis threw 73 pitches allowing two runs on four hits in 5.1 innings. He walked three and struck out seven batters to earn a win for the Tropic Faithful.
CF Carlos Sanchez helped the rookie starter going 2 for 3 with two homers (4) and throwing out Wolves SS Rafael Adams at third. Sanchez scored three runs and drove in three to take Player of the Game honors. SS Carlos Schumann and 2B Miguel ‘Thrillseeker’ Martinez added three RBI apiece to propel the Hawaii offense.

The Tropics complete the series sweep with an extra inning win over the Wolves at ‘Iolani Palace. Hawaii 3B Jorge Dodd ended the game with a two-run shot (5) off Madison reliever Tom ‘Hellbound’ Lefebvre in the bottom of the 10th. Antonio Gonzalez was 2 for 4 with a double (3) with two RBI and scored a run.
Trops starter Harry Spurlock pitched seven innings allowing four runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out five. Reliever Gheorghe Sollomovici came on in relief and tossed three scoreless innings to pick up the win. He gave up a hit and struck out two as he improves to 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA.
The Hawaii Tropics sweep the three-game series over the Madison Wolves and post an 8-1 record in the 9-game homestand.
