Hawaii starter Nalany Ahotaein is struggling. He’s giving up too many hits resulting in a team worst 9.16 ERA. He gave up eight runs on ten hits against the Brook Park Brownies. He walked two and fanned three in 3.1 innings as he falls to 0-4 on the season. The bullpen gave the offense a chance allowing just two hits the rest of the way while striking out 8 batters.
Trailing 8-2, the Trops scored a run in the 8th and four runs in the 9th but fell short. CF Carlos Sanchez was 3 for 5 with a double (4), stole a base (2), drove in runs and scored a run. 3B Jorge Dodd went 2 for 5 with a double (5), scored two and drove in two.

Trops starter Leland Rogers received some good run support and allowed just two runs on six hits to the Brownies to even the series with Brook Park. Rogers fanned six batters in 6.2 innings and lowered his ERA to a still high 5.23 but improves to 2-2. Cale Cote picthed 1.2 scoreless innings with a couple of Ks then Bob Westbrooks finished the game with 2/3 of an inning of work with a K, a walk and a hit.
Harry Surface was 2 for 5 with a solo homer (3), two RBI and scored two runs. C Bob Webb was 3 for 5 with a double (4), drove in two runs and scored two.

The Trops had a solid start from Harry Spurlock, but the offense continues to sputter as Hawaii drops another series. Spurlock allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four batters in 6.2 innings. The bullpen gave up a run over 2.1 innings, but the offense couldn’t muster anything against Brook Park relievers.
Carlos Sanchez was 1 for 2 with a walk and a solo homer (1) in the 6th inning to account for Hawaii’s lone run. Arata Ine singled in four at bats and Antonio Gonzalez was 1 for 4.
The Brook Park Brownies win the three-game series 2-1 over the Hawaii Tropics.
