WP- Bob Westbrooks (1-0)

LP- Steve Fuller (0-1) BS (1)

Save- Ray Harrison (1)

Time: 3:26

Attendance- 48,093 at Chico’s Bail Bonds Field

The Tropics comeback from down 4-1 to win their 4th game in a row. Trops starter Buwono Mainaky worked through 5.1 innings allowing 4 runs on 12 hits while fanning 6 batters and left the game on the hook for the loss. Reliever Bob Westbrooks recorded 4 outs in 4 pitches in 1.1 innings to earn the win and give the offense a chance. Ray Harrison tossed two clean innings with a K for the save.

The Hawaii offense had to rely on keeping the line moving with doubles and singles because strangely homers were hard to come by in San Fernando. Eric Owens led all Trops hitters with three hits, stole a couple of bases (4), scored a run and drove in one. Owens is playing at the level he displayed when he first came up to the majors. He posted 2.7 WAR in 2061 while playing just 52 games then had a monsters season in 2062 with 5.3 WAR. That season he hit 30 homers and drove in 133 runs ending with a Puckett in left. He’s struggled since and has been riding the option train. Vicente ‘Yogi’ Martinez was 1 for 5 with two ribbies and scored a run. Bob Webb was 2 for 4 with a double (1) and two RBI.

Mario Santos picked up his 3rd save with a scoreless 9th. Hawaii starter Nalany Ahotaein has had his issues through two starts this season and those struggled continued. He gave up 4 runs on 10 hits and a couple walks while striking out four batters to take the loss.

Vicente Martinez was 1 for 4 with a solo homer (2) in the 8th inning. Eric Owens was 1 for 4 with a ribbie. Harry Surface was 1 for 3 with a double (1) and scored a run.

The San Fernando Bears beat up on their former teammate ‘Griz’ Rogers scoring 7 runs on 8 hits in 4.2 innings to tag him with the loss. He struck out five batters but falls to 1-2 with a 6.43 ERA. The Trops bullpen gave up just one more run in 3.1 innings but that run was the difference in the game.

Antonio Gonzalez was 3 for 5 with a solo homer (1), scored three runs and drove in three runs. Armando Medina was 1 for 3 with a two-run homer (2) and two walks. Arata Ine was 4 for 5 with a double (2), scored a run and drove in a run.
