Hawaii’s offense did its job scoring five runs while each batter had at least one hit. Pitching on the other hand coughed up nine runs to the Surfers to put the Trops in an 0-4 hole to begin the season. 2B Arata Ine was 2 for 5 with a double (1), two RBI and scored a run. Armando Medina was 2 for 4 and hit his 1st homer of the season with a solo blast in the 5th inning.
Hawaii starter Harry Spurlock was wild issuing five walks and giving up four hits and six runs in 6.1 innings of work. He struck out two batters as he falls to 0-1 with a 7.11 ERA. The bullpen allowed three more runs to allow the Surfers to pull away for the win.

The Tropics finally earn their 1st win of 2065 with a one-run victory over the Long Beach Surfers. Mahad ‘Furball’ Einan made his 1st start as a Tropic tossing six innings and allowing three runs on six hits with two Ks in a no decision. Ray Harrison picked up the win in relief with two scoreless innings. He gave up a hit and struck out a batter to improve to 1-0.
Vicente ‘Yogi’ Martinez was 1 for 3 with a two-run homer (1) in the 3rd inning. Eric Owens was 2 for 4 with a walk, double (1), triple (1), an RBI and scored a run.

Trops starter Buwono Mainaky took Player of the Game honors and the loss after allowing three runs on six hits in 6.1 innings. He walked two and fanned seven but gave up two homers to the Surfers as he falls to 0-2 on the season with a 5.40 ERA.
The Hawaii offense struggled against Kiminobu ‘Boxy’ Seki but thought they caught a break when Seki left with an injury. It was not to be as the Surfer’s bullpen was up to the task as they gave up just an unearned run and five hits to pick up the win against Hawaii.

Surfer’s reliever Adamnan ‘Sledgehammer’ Maryadi picked his 2nd win of the series against Hawaii, and the Long Beach pitching staff stymies the Trops again for the series win. Hawaii managed just a run on seven hits while walking four times and striking out six times. CF Carlos Sanchez was 3 for 4 and drove in Hawaii’s lone run. Carlos Schumann was 2 for 4, stole a base (1) and scored a run.
Nalany Ahotaein pitched well in his start for Hawaii allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk. He struck out five but gave up two homers as he falls to 0-2 with a 6.30 ERA. Bob Westbrooks got some work in tossing a clean inning with a K.
The Long Beach Surfers win the four-game series 3 games to 1.
