Hawaii rookie Harry Surface hit an RBI double in the home half of the 7th inning to break a 2-2 tie with the Krill. Bob Westbrooks had given up a hit in the top of the 6th but was bailed out by a throw by center fielder Carlos Sanchez to end the inning. Westbrooks then set down the next four batters to earn the win. Utkan Gocek relieved Westbrooks and tossed two scoreless innings for the save.
Surface was 2 for 4 with an RBI and Vicente ‘Yogi’ Martinez hit his 3rd homer of the season with a solo blast in the 3rd inning. Miguel ‘Thrillseeker’ Martinez was 2 for 3 with two doubles (3) and scored two times.
Bikini 2 Hawaii 1- Wednesday, April 23, 2064

Bikini starter Takashi Nakamura silenced the Tropics bats for 8.2 innings, and ‘Fast Lane’ records an easy one-out save. Nakamura scattered seven hits and allowed just one run while fanning four batters. Morris gave up a hit and issued a walk before getting the final out for his 2nd save of the season.
Trops starter Johnny Nicholson gave up a run on five hits and two walks with two Ks in five innings. Marty Pearce gave up a run in two innings on a hit and two walks. Gheorghe Sollomovici pitched two scoreless innings and was effectively wild walking two and striking out one.
Jorge Dodd was 1 for 4 and scored a run. CF Carlos Sanchez gunned down two more Bikini baserunners with one at home and one at first. Krill LF Felix ‘I.P.” Moreno thought he could outrun a throw from Sanchez and was thrown out. Sanchez said, “Moreno is fast without the ‘s’.”
The second laser throw from Sanchez was after a fly out by Keith Williams was a bit too shallow and Krill right fielder Juan Ramos was caught sleeping. Sanchez threw a strike to Harry Surface to double up Ramos.
Surface said, “Carlos threw that so hard that I could smell hair burning on my Harry Surface.”
Bikini 7 Hawaii 2- Thursday, April 24, 2064

The Bikini Krill secure a series win with more good pitching against the Hawaii lineup. Arturo Meza gave up just one run in six innings to pick up his 2nd win then the Krill bullpen gave up a run the rest of the way.
Hawaii’s Nalany Ahotaein struggled through 3+ innings allowing the Krill three runs on five hits and a couple of walks. He struck out four but falls to 0-3 on the season. Bib Westbrooks gave up three runs in 1/3 of an inning and now has an ERA north of 8.00.
Roberto Lopez was 1 for 4 with a solo homer (1) in the 6th inning. Bob Webb was 1 for 4 and scored a run. Carlos Schumann racked up three doubles for Hawaii (6) but those hits amounted to nothing.
The Krill win the series 2-1.
Despite the series loss, the Tropics offense appears to be coming together. The next few series will tell us if the Trops can compete.
