Jorge Dodd hits two homers and the Trops bullpen put up 5.2 scoreless innings to lead Hawaii to a win.
Dodd was 2 for 4 with a two-run bomb (16) in the 1st innings and a solo shot (17) in the 6th. Vicente ‘Yogi’ Martinez hit his 34th homer in the 1st and was 1 for 4 with three RBI.
On the mound, Gheorghe Sollomovici made the start throwing 68 pitches in 3.1 innings. He gave up four runs on six hits, a walk and struck out three in a no decision. Harry Edwards pitched two scoreless innings giving up just a hit with a K. Bob Westbrooks pitched two scoreless giving up a hit with two Ks.

The Trops offense puts up six runs again then lean on the bullpen again to take the game home. Hawaii 2B Julian Rivera was 3 for 5 with a two-run homer in the 5th inning. His double play partner Carlos Schumann was 3 for 4 with a double (19), an RBI, scored a run and stole a base (22). Roberto Lopez set the table for the Trops going 2 for 4 with a walk, scored two runs and drove in one.
Hawaii starter Martin ‘Lumps’ Garcia pitched four innings allowing three runs on three hits and six walks while striking out just one. Jose Ordonez pitched 1.1 clean innings for his 7th win of the season. Utkan Gocek pitched 2/3 of an inning for his 13th save.

The Brownies offense breaks through with four runs off Trops starter Ruben bin Majid al Din and reliever Alex Garcia for six runs and their starter Jose Martinez stifled the Hawaii offense for eight innings to get a win.
Majid al Din allowed two runs on four hits with a K in five innings to get tagged with the loss. But Alex Garcia gave up four runs while getting just one batter out via a K to make a comeback tough.

Hawaii DH Vicente Martinez drove in three runs and the pitching staff recovered as the Trops get the series win. Martinez was 3 for 4 with a walk, two doubles (36) and three ribbies. 1B Lorenzo Holloway was 2 for 5 with a double (18), scored two runs and drove in one.
Daniel Thornton gave up two runs on four hits and a walk in 4.2 innings. He was relieved by Ricardo Sanchez who tossed 1.1 scoreless innings to earn his 3rd win.
The Tropics win the series 3-1.
“We began the post All Star festivities 2 games back of the Krill and now are tied. We need to keep the pressure up on Bikini and keep an eye on Portland too. Can’t afford to have them sneak up on us.”, said Hawaii GM Jim Walker.
