The Hawaii Tropics have promoted AAA Death Valley Manager Amato Cruz as the new Trops manager after Rich Kerr retired. Cruz came to the Hawaii Org after two seasons as the PC in Saint Joseph’s (Twin Cities Org). He managed one season in Carson City before his promotion to Death Valley as the manager of the Scorpions. He led the Scorpions from 2058-2062 seasons finishing in 1st place his final season going 80-64.
The Tropics then elevated Mike Campbell from the Medford Mules hitting coach to Death Valley as their new manager. Campbell began his coaching career as the HC in Gaylord in 2059 through 2060 then managed the team in 2061. He worked in Medford for the 2062 season before his recent elevation.
Replacing Campbell in Medford will be Hector Gallegos who served as the Gaylord HC in 2061 and 2062. Gallegos has an OK reputation in just two seasons in the dugout and may get a chance in the manager’s seat.
