The Hawaii Tropics play a three game series with the Seattle Storm before making a trip to Omaha for a one off final game of the season.



Game 1- With Hawaii down 2-1 in the sixth inning, the Tropics put up four runs to take the lead and eventually the win in the series opener. The big hit was a two out, two run homer off the bat of Karunamaya Makarand. Makarand was 1 for 2 on the day after pinch hitting for Bart Henstock in the 6th. Tomas Guillen was 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Semih Gurani was good today as he pitched six strong innings allowing a couple of runs on six hits and two walks. He struck out four batters and improves to 6-10 with a 3.76 ERA. Kirana Shivani pitched an inning of relief allowing just one hit and issueing a walk while striking out one. Sumitomo Takahashi pitched two clean innings for his 4th save of the season.



Hawaii wins 5-2.



Game 2- The Hawaii Tropics trailed 2-0 going into the top of the ninth inning. They scored two runs to tie the game on a two run homer off the bat of Thomas Kramer. Kramer was 1 for 3 with a walk on the day. But in the home half of the ninth, the Storm scored a run off of Hawaii reliever Daruna Maddukuri to walk it off.

Maddukuri pitched 1 2/3 innings in the loss allowing the winning run on two hits and a walk. He falls to 7-7 with a 4.66 ERA. Bill Dempsey made the start throwing 5 1/3 innings giving up just five hits and a couple of walks. He struck out two in a no decision.



Seattle wins 3-2.



Game 3- The Tropics take advantage of two Seattle Storm errors to score an unearned run to win the series finale. The two errors were committed in Hawaii’s four run fourth inning. Alejandro Ortiz, Ramao ‘Massacre’ Saturnino and Ron Shiplack each were 3 for 5 at the plate. Ortiz hit a two run homer, drove in two runs, stole a base and scored three runs. Saturnino scored a run and drove in a run while Shiplack also scored a run and had an RBI.

On the mound, Michael Kalil made an abbreviated start, throwing three innings and giving up just three hits while fanning three batters. Alberto Castaneda earned the win after pitching three innings and allowing a run on two hits while striking out two batters. He improves to 9-5 with a 4.07 ERA. Tomas Franco earned his first save of the season after three inning of solid relief. He allowed just two hits while striking out a batter.



Hawaii wins 6-1.



Sounds of the series: “I’m alright coach. My wrist is sore, that’s all. I think I threw too many fish at the market!”, Michael Kalil said after being removed from the game.



Hawaii wins the series 2-1.



The Tropics play their final game of the season in Omaha against the Cyclones.



Game 162- The Tropics and Cyclones sleep walk through this one as Hawaii wins a one run game to end the season. Ron Shiplack was 3 for 3 at the plate for the Trops with an RBI and Adhyapayana Mehta and Tomas Guillen were both 2 for 5 with runs scored to account for both of Hawaii’s runs.

Austin George won the game after a stellar performance. He allowed a run on a solo homer, four total hits and a couple of walks. He struck out six batters and improves to 7-8 with a 4.64 ERA. Tye Whitford threw two innings of relief, walking one and striking out one for his 9th hold of the season. Ronnie Sprinkles pitched a clean ninth with a K to pick up his 13th save of the season.



Hawaii wins 2-1.
