The Hawaii Tropics arrive in Long Beach to play a critical four game series with the Long Beach Surfers for the lead in the Pacific Division.



Game 1- The Tropics use a bullpen day to get the win in the series opener. Hawaii gets two unearned runs in the fourth inning and hold on.

RF Mike Campbell was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored.

DH Ernest McBride was 1 for 4 with a run scored.

RP Luis
Santiago
gets the win with a clean inning pitched with a K.



Hawaii wins 2-1.



Game 2- The Surfers pound out three homers off of Hawaii SP Zak Johnson and homer two more times off of Tropics relievers to even the series 1-1.

Johnson pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up five runs on nine hits, walked two and struck out two. He falls to 11-6 with a 4.48 ERA.

SS Ben Vaive was 3 for 4 with a homer, two runs scored and two RBI.

3B Fernando Rodriguez was 1 for 4 with two RBI.



Long Beach wins 9-6.



Game 3- The Tropics drop another game to the Surfers and are no 1/2 game back of Long Beach in the Pacific. Hawaii SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani fell just short, going five innings and surrendering two runs on five hits while walking three. He struck out three and falls to 8-15 on the season.

LF Bastiao Fardos was 2 for 4 with a homer, two runs scored and an RBI.



Long Beach wins 4-2.



Game 4- Hawaii SP Alaric Wullenweber was out pitched by Long Beach SP Ernesto Delgado as the Surfers win the series 3-1.

Wullenweber gave up three runs on nine hits, a walk and eight Ks in 5 1/3 innings of work. He falls to 19-7 with a 2.67 ERA.

The Tropics could muster only three hits with one each from Ben Vaive, Bastiao Fardos and Gary Allen.



Long Beach wins 3-0 and now leads the Pacific by a 1 1/2 games.



The Tropics make their last stop of the season in San Fernando for a three game series against the Bears.



Game 1- The Bears offense pound Hawaii SP Jesus Gonzalez for six runs on three hits. He records no outs before getting lifted by Hawaii Tropics Manager Ricardo Morales.

Bastiao Fardos was 3 for 4 with a solo homer.



San Fernando wins 17-2.



Game 2- The Tropics get back on track with a much needed win over the Bears to stay close in the division race.

Mike Campbell led the way for Hawaii as he was 3 for 5 with a homer, two runs scored and three RBI.

The Tropics bullpen pitched the game from start to finish and did just enough to put Hawaii over the top. RP Stephen Taub pitched 3 1/3 innings walking one and striking out four to get the win.



Hawaii wins 8-5.



Game 3- Hawaii Starter Nick Destefani pitched 6 1/3 innings and gave up a run on four hits, two walks and struck out five to get the win. C Ron Shiplack was 2 for 4 with two homers, two runs and four RBI to lead the Hawaii offense.



Hawaii wins 5-2 and wins the series 2-1.
