M’opes Shell Out $5M in Bonuses
Nov 15, 2055
The Sacramento Mad Popes financial team released their annual report on the team’s status, a document that comes complete with more black-box redactions than a redoubled Sim. One item not so redacted, however, was the cash outlay given to various club members for unlocked achievements. All total, these summed to a cool $5M, on top—of course—of the player’s already hefty salaries.
The rich get richer, eh?
What are ya gonna do?
Specifically, the M’opes check writers got busy digitally inking payments to:
- Dallas Dixon - $2M for 200 plate appearances
- Carlos Flores – $1.32M for both an All-Star bonus and winning the Nebraska
- John Kinsella - $1M All-Star bonus
- Luis Ramos - $250K for 50 innings pitched
- Tsuyoshi Kobayashi - $200K All-Star bonus *
- Thomas Turner - $130K All-Star bonus
- Felix Vidaca - $100K for 150 innings (between Atlantic City and Sacramento)
“It was a good year for our baseball team,” said owner Brad Mueller. “That had a lot to do with why our conglomerate chose to purchase the club.”
The report seems to also indicate cash flow coming into and out of the team’s coffers attached to other teams, particularly within the Pacific division, several tagged with annotations suggesting electronic equipment is involved in some fashion. Mueller had to leave the briefing just as these questions began to surface, however, the the true nature of them remains in the dark.
