In what only can be called a series of misfortunate events, Sacramento Mad Popes second baseman Dallas Dixon was injured this past week after a night out (and in) with Debra "Debbie" Dyer, daughter of team owner Bill Dyer, Jr.
"Ms. Dyer and I were doing some ... err ... advanced Yoga techniques when I heard a snap and crackle and pop in my oblique," said Dixon while receiving treatment on an unrelated groin injury from team massage therapist Mei zhen Chen. "But, like I said, we were in the middle of a technique so I couldn't just push Ms. Dyer from under me."
The oblique strain will sideline Dixon for a month barring any new aggravations of the injury.
"It's really too bad about Dallas," said Debra Dyer. "I wonder if Fred Roy likes yoga. I'm a sucker for guys with two first names."
