46.02 Spring Rotation Questions

Always questions with this team. Always a mystery surrounding most aspects of the roster. Why can't this idiot of a GM get his poop in a group?

As we approach spring training, the Mad Popes have yet to name even one starter. Not a one. The reason behind that is the complete lack of established pitching talent currently on the spring training roster. Here's a list of potential rotation candidates:

LHP Eustace Tilley
LHP Warren Moore
LHP Matt McCartney
RHP Marvin Winston
LHP Jim Pollock
LHP Ben Render
RHP Tom Bennett
LHP Kevin O'Toole

Ugh, we even cut the list down from what it likely is, since it would be reasonable to add one or two more names there. Only Tilley has proven himself to be a viable starter in the BBA, but his Popes' tenure is less than two seasons. The rest of the names are a who's who of top pitching prospects that have slowly began showing their warts.

Moore was brought over from Charlotte prior to last season in a dealthat sent three promising Pope prospects from the organization. At 25 years old, Moore needs to finally live up to a smidgen of his potential that resulted in him being picked first overall in the 2043 BBA draft. If the scouts continue their degradation of Moore's skills, the trade will be exhibit #459 in the long list of follies at the hands of Shoeless.

Other first rounders attempting to break into the rotation are O'Toole (2040, 31st overall), Winston (2042, 30th overall), and Render (2045, 15th overall). With so much draft and trade capital in the mix, the Popes simply cannot have this part of their ballclub fall apart.

Aside from Bennett, all the candidates have sipped from their BBA cup of coffee, so it's time to put up or be shipped out in another wildly moronic move by Shoeless. It's just too bad Shoeless won't be the one receiving the walking papers.

Don’t worry, El Paso hasn’t named a single starter yet either lol. We’ve got enough pitchers in town to fill three rotations, too many to even get a decent tryout in spring, but we’ll manage somehow. I may have have a couple of names to pencil in though ;) :D
