Is anyone more reactionary than GM Shoeless? More impulsive? How many babies has this lunatic thrown out with the bathwater? These are serious questions. We've watched and attempted to comprehend mishap after mishap. It's time. It's time for him to be fired.
Just this week, in just another string of finding scapegoats for his own ineptitude, GM Shoeless demoted first year Sacramento manager Antonio Garcia to AAA Black Hills after the team's recent 1-6 week, dropping their season record to 53-68. Although, if memory serves, the Popes were two games above .500 when Shoeless decided to send the face of the franchise David Simpson packing to Twin Cities. I guess that was Garcia's fault. Garcia was somehow expected to win more games with the league's hottest hitter in another uniform. Sickening.
To defend his moves, Shoeless had this to say, "I'm the general manager, and I will be until they change my password."
Taking over for Garcia as the Popes' manager is John Farmer. Farmer joined the organization prior to the 2040 season and has slowly worked his way up the system. The 63-year-old holds a career 336-229 record as manager. I wonder how long before Shoeless gets bored with him and shoves him into a retirement community.
"To be succinct, Farmer just has a better rapport with our young players who we're trying to develop," Shoeless said. "He's coached almost all of them before and facilitated their successful climb to the Brewster. This move shouldn't be that much of a surprise."
Fire Shoeless.
