Pagan, Shi, Cruz

Mortals should tremble.

Beating their breasts in lamentation

And wetting themselves in fear.

Instead, opposing pitchers lick their chops at the prospect of facing the three former giants.

Despite the Popes' solid stretch of play recently which has them on a 17-5 run, the contributions from Pagan, Shi, and Cruz have been minuscule at best and overbearingly negative at worst. In July, where the Popes are already 12-4, the three's slash-lines are beyond pathetic -- Pagan .155/.222/.224 in 63 PA; Cruz .152/.317/.242 in 41 PA; and, Shi .093/.188/.093 in 48 PA. What do we do with these ballplayers?

Their dismal play is compounded by the massive financial burden of their contracts. Together, their contracts amount to $43m this season and next, dropping to $31 million in 2046, and down to $19m in 2047, where Shi is not under contract (thank Camacho!). In a salary capped league of $110m, Sacramento has over a third of its cash wrapped up in awful players, who are looking to only get worse as the days tick on.

Shoeless is to blame. He had to have Pagan like a spoiled child in the candy aisle. He kicked and screamed for him while literally kicking Ramos to the curb for absolutely zero compensation to make room for Pagan. Then, Shoeless took on the Cruz contract in the Brooklyn debacle.

Where's that fireshoeless.com guy? We need him back.
