On the Diamond Vol. 16 2002

Pitcher of the sim:
SP Darren Hall
1-0 with a 1.12 ERA in 8.0 IP. Hall has done a very nice job as a 5th starter.

Batter of the sim:
CF Aaron Hayes
.375 avg in 24 AB's with 1 dinger. Hayes has really stepped up since Dean Rodrigez turned into a lump monster.

3-2 sim. Not the greatest sim ever but we clinched the division at quite a cost though. Sadaharu Oh Jr will miss the rest of the season due to injury. He has at times carried the team so the mood in the club house is a nervous one. On the bright side, Chandler Orm will be back and the team has clinched early enough to adjust the rotation for the playoffs.

how did you clinch the division when you are 4 games ahead with 4 games to play? What if you lose 4 games and VAN wins four games? Would there be a tie-breaking game? (I notice that you and VAN went 11-11 against each other.)

I actually wrote this before really digging into the file or anything. According to the playoff odds I have a 100% chance so I assumed I had clinched.
