The team was pretty much on autopilot while I was on vacation getting set for deer season. Clearly I need to do this more often as August was another stellar month for Cali with a 19-8 record. The folks below were major keys to this month's success.
Starter of the Month:
Oscar Funke
In 6 games started he was 3-1 with a 3.07 ERA in 44 IP. He notched 30 K's to go against 16 walks. His WHIP was a pretty solid 1.18. Funke hasn't really been in the spotlight all year but he has been quietly putting together another great season.
Reliever of the Month:
Austin Horta
In 11 games he was 1-1 with 1 Save and a 1.32 ERA. He notched 11 K's to go against just 2 walks. His WHIP was an excellent .73. After finally getting knocked around a bit last month, Horta bounced back to his stellar ways this season.
Infielder of the Month:
Jacinto Merino Jr
He appeared in 27 games hitting .389/.417/.558/.974 in 113 AB's. He blasted 4 HR to power his way to a total of 23 RBI. Merino's lack of power continues but he still knocked the stuffing out of the ball in August.
Outfielder of the Month:
SadaHaru Oh Jr
He appeared in 26 games hitting .347/.450/.653/1.103 in 101 AB's. He blasted 9 HR to power his way to a total of 23 RBI. Oh Jr had a monster month at the plate. He continues to be a stud for the Crusaders.

yea those two have been amazing this season. I definitely won that trade although age is gonna catch up with these two and a bunch of my players sooner rather than later.

Wow that was a bad trade for the Mecte. I got Botham now and while he's no barnburner he's decent in the field and has a bit of pop in his bat and he's cheap.

I have no idea what happened to him for awhile there. He was a monster when he first came up with me in Cali but I sure am glad I decided to go get Oh Jr instead.
