In yet another desperation move by Sacramento top brass, the Mad Popes dipped their chicken-greased hands deep into the congregation's pocket, signing International Free Agents 'Digital' Nisancî and Boulos Naim to pricey minor league deals. Nisancî, an atheltic outfielder out of Turkey, signed for just over $12 million, while Naim, a crafty southpaw from the baseball paradise of Iraq, signed for just over half that amount at $6.31 million. According to the BBA Constitution, the Popes will cough up an addition $13 million as a penalty for their callous spending spree.

'Digital' Nisancî
Boulos Naim
"Wine, honey, and figs," said Exalted Mystic, Ralph Dewaldo. "The lust of the stomach hammers upon the core of the soul."
With little in the way of hitting prospects within the organization, Shoeless and his gaggle of misguided misfits were immediately enamored with Nisanci's abilities at the plate. The lanky left-handed hitter projects average power, but his smooth swing and contact ability has many Pope scouts projecting him as a perennial .290 hitter. Nisanci couples his prowess at the plate with above average speed and defensive abilities.
"The coyote runs from the stars," continued Dewaldo. "For it remembers."
The signing of Naim adds another mid-range potential starter to a growing stable of pitching prospects within the organization. Naim's combination of being left handed and his ability to keep the ball low in the zone, fostering weak ground balls off opponent bats, left little doubt Shoeless would be slobbering over himself to land the Baghdad native.
"Camacho reigns," sang Dewaldo. "The dance of time is his kingdom."
