43.10 He Ka'im from Lebanon

Post by shoeless.db » Thu Jul 09, 2020 11:47 am

"Lebanon? You're still in Lebanon? What in the baseball fuck are you still doing in god-damn Lebanon?" Shoeless picked up the tennis ball Donk had dropped at his feet and through it across the park. "I know you think you struck lighting in a bottle in Lebanon with your last find there, but I'm certain that whole area doesn't have anyone else worth a damn?"

Shoeless was on his cellphone with Sacramento's new International Director of Scouting and Player Development, Charlie Hilzendorf. In just a couple months on the job, Charlie was able to land more intriguing International prospects than his predecessor had in almost a decade. He even landed the highest potentially rated prospect in the entire organization when he signed Farran bin Mu'sad out of Lebanon back in January.

"Are you telling me you found us a power hitting shortstop prospect there now, too?" Shoeless said, scratching his head. "Incredible. Just incredible. How the hell is his name pronounced? Ka'im Khayri? Well, if he's 18, ship the kid right to single A Berkeley if he's as good as you say. I want him with our best coaches right away."

Shoeless hung up the phone and crouched down to pet Donk.

"Well, buddy. Things may be looking up for this organization after all."
