"I'm not going to get into second guessing what (Alberto) Franco was doing with his lineup," said Pérez when asked about former Crusader manager Alberto Franco's decision to sit Rhodes most of the season. "The lineup just needs to find a way to feel exciting again for the players. What better way than to drop a future hall-of-famer in between two all-stars in Quant Kouros and David Simpson?"
Dusty Rhodes
"I feel good. I'm ready to get out there and help this team win," Rhodes said while waiting for his turn to hit outside the batting practice cage in Portland today. "I have another couple hundred hits in me before I give this game up. I plan to get a bunch of those to finish up this season."
Rhodes, 38, is a career .332 hitter, compiling a mammoth 3463 hits in just over 16 seasons.
