42.27 Random Shoeless Thoughts

Post by shoeless.db » Fri Apr 24, 2020 3:23 pm

[stealing Recte's idea on this]

Random Shoeless Thoughts
June 23, 2042

  • I wonder if Brett Schroeder pauses in the chip aisle at the grocery store when he sees Flamin' Cheetos. Does he say, "damn you, shoeless" under this breath? I hope he does.
  • I'm going to fight Manuel Andres if he decides to suck after I placed him back into the starting rotation. He's pitched well this season and bumped his control from four to five. He lost his job in the rotation last season due to being straight up awful, despite signing a crisp new six year deal with the club.
  • I really hope Sergio Maldonado performs well in the DH slot against righties. Actually, I want Sergio to frickin' blow up -- like a .450 sim. Dear OOTP Gods, please make Sergio a beast for several sims.
  • What the hell am I going to do with David Simpson after his team control years are over? He's going to want $40/year for six years. I can feel it. It's either him or the team. Ugh.
  • Is this a bad time to ask for daily sims?
  • Is it ok to admit publicly that I enjoy Ron's BBA Today podcasts a lot? Probably, not yet, I suppose. Man, I'm loving the Three Strikes episodes a ton.
  • Tommy Kramer and Joe Lacy are probably always going to just be role players. I'm going to have to temper my fandom of these two.
  • Why does everyone make fun of my new Crusader's logo on Slack? I spent over three minutes working on that.
  • I think a great podcast would be to have an OOTP newbie take over an UMEBA team and then record him receiving advice on his team from a different BBA GM every sim.
  • I should have made this into a poem.

I echo this sentiment. Not just the Three Strikes episodes, but all the BBA podcasts. So much fun to listen to.

I could qualify! I swear, every time I open up OOTP, I learn something new. It is a little intimidating with that, learning about my new UMEBA team and also following the boards *and* Slack. Trying to keep up with it though. And about once a day I feel like I want to post a question to the BBA community!

Post those questions, John. Never assume you’re the only one who doesn’t know.

Pausing in any aisle is against social distancing rules. Get your stuff and get out. But yes I do loathe the very idea of Cheetos because of you...

Good piece

I too am enjoying the podcasts. I blame this virus for introducing them to me and slack.

I used to listen to all the podcasts. Even the entire 4 and a half hour afbi episodes. But now a days there are so many that I can't keep up with which ones I've heard and hadn't heard.

One of the things I like about having some of them in anchor and then distributed to various sources I'd that it makes it easier to keep track of them that way.
