2041 Hollywood Silver Stars (A)
Hitter of the Year
3B Hector Ojeda
There was little doubt the Venezuelan third baseman would be named the Hitter of the Year for the Silver Stars in 2041. Ojeda put up astronomical numbers and anchored the lineup for a very strong batting core in Hollywood. His 40 homeruns led the team. He also through in 30 doubles on his way to a .315/.327/.610 slashline.
"We knew the guy could hit," said Hollywood hitting coach Moon Jetson. "But, man, that guy has some incredible pop in his bat. The sound of the ball hitting his wood bat just sounds a bit different than anyone else I've been around for some time."
Although, Jetson was quick to acknowledge it's the at-bats where the ball doesn't hit Ojeda's bat that could be a problem for the promising 22-year-old.
"He ended up with 124 strikeouts while just walking 11 times in 566 plate appearances," said Jetson. "He's been seeing the same optometrist since he was six. I think it's time to get a second opinion. There's a reason he always pulls a chair to within two feet of the tv in the clubhouse. The fool just has bad eyes."
Expect to see Ojeda with AA Bismarck next season wearing thick black glasses.

I love that his little OOTP personality profile is: "Counted on to show up, and he does."
Classic.
Classic.

I missed that somehow. That's hilarious. Someone at OOTP has a dry sense of humor.HoosierVic wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 4:10 pmI love that his little OOTP personality profile is: "Counted on to show up, and he does."

Yeah, the little profile blurbs can be priceless. My bench coach has "the personality of a ham sandwich." Ha - and I just noticed that Seekins' blurb is "Personality? What personality?"
