1B/3B Tirto Suharto
The 18-year-old Papua New Guinea native rewarded the California Crusader organization for believing in him enough to use their ninth round selection on him during the 2041 Amateur Draft. Suharto threw together a slash-line of .271/.308/.487 for a very light-hitting rookie league club. Projected to play either third base or first base as he develops, the athletic Papuan will need to improve his contact, power, and eye at the plate to be a serious prospect within the organization.
"Having a guy like Tirto in any clubhouse is just a real treat," said Berkeley manager Cris Vazquez. "He works his tail off each and every day. He's a guy I'm really going to be cheering for in the years to come."
Suharto will get a chance to showcase his skills further this year as he's been added to California's winter league squad. Crusader brass hope to see continued development out of him and project he'll be on the short season A roster in Philipsburg in 2042.
