Horrible Poetry: Minor Leagues 2040.15

Post by shoeless.db » Tue Nov 05, 2019 4:05 pm

Horrible Poetry by David "Horrible" Simpson POTENTIAL

Gurgle, Glop
Glop, Gurgle

A primordial stew of possibilities
Bubbling and Bursting

Gurgle, Glop
Glop, Gurgle

Some dissolve into nothing
Others catch fire and burn

Gurgle, Glop
Glop, Gurgle

Oh, the madness
as we tinker and hope

Crusader Organization Minor League Pitcher of the First Half of the Season
Dani Garcia -- The 19-year-old, 6'2" starting pitcher out of Cuba is putting up magnificent numbers in AA Compton this season. He sports a 10-0 record, 3.05 ERA, and 1.07 WHIP over 97.1 innings. He is showing why he is ranked as the organization's number one prospect.

Crusader Organization Minor League Batter of the First Half of the Season
Cheng-ho 'Chicken' Ji -- The 23-year-old first baseman out of Taiwan has absolutely destroyed AA pitching this season, stroking a slash-line of .337/.421/.717. Chicken mashed 32 long balls already on the season and has an almost two to one, walks to strikeouts ratio for a power hitter (31 walks and 16 strikeouts). Why in the hell is this guy not playing for the big club in California?

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.

Simpson wrote that while he was "stewing" in the tunnel at the All-Star game, didn't he?
