Popes Playing Pepper
with Sai and Aarav
SAI -- Welcome to another installment of Triple P. I'm your host, Sai "Young" Ahuji, and with me, as always, is former lactation coach, Aarav "the Mad Pope of Mumbai" Patil.
AARAV -- I received a 100% satisfaction rating.
SAI -- No. No, you didn't. [shakes head] Let's just get on with the show.
AARAV -- Five stars. Five!
SAI -- [sighs] Today's top story on Triple P: The California Crusaders opened the 2040 BBA season on the road against Chicago, dropping the season opener 5-2 before coming out on top behind a solid outing from Luis Gracía, 4-1. The Crusaders then traveled west to Long Beach, splitting a four game series, 2-2. Top unpaid intern, Wasim Jeffers Jr., is standing by with more. Wasim?
WASIM -- Thanks, Sai. What's there really to say? We pitched well. Didn't really hit well. And, had some key errors in the field resulting in some missed opportunities to pull out wins.
AARAV -- Ugh, Lucero was just awful in the field. That kid's lucky he can swing the bat.
WASIM -- Exactly. Lucera muffed three of his first fourteen grounders on the young season, including a heart-breaker in the season opener which led to two runs. I mean, he's not a horrific fielder. The scouts have him rated as having a six in infield errors, but the poor guy just can't make a play.
SAI -- Maybe he just hates the cold.
AARAV -- That could be it. That cheap jerk of an owner in Chicago refused to throw a roof on his fancy new stadium. It's 2040! Only heathens play baseball that far north in the open air. Gross!
SAI -- [texting on his phone] Yep. Gross. That's the show. Good-bye.
AARAV -- [visibly confused]
