I've edited this resignation to reflect calmer thoughts. Regarding Matt's anger in his responses, it was warranted as I was basically baiting him in the original post.

I've been pretty nuclear all since the discussion from yesterday got restarted. I didn't think there was much more to discuss after yesterday and felt like the discussion was moving way from the original point, which made me nuts because I feel like that's happened so many times before. I got frustrated with Recte's handling of the matter, and went into sarcasm and belittling mode. That's not fair to him. Matt works very very hard for this league. I have hashed it our with him, and we're good.

I'm still considering leaving. I do not like the direction OOTP is going. The game has turned from "Grow a garden" to "Traverse this minefield" in my mind. I also do not really like the way our overall GM attitude has changed in recent years. Some of that maybe driven my the game 's increasing challenge driving increasingly competitive behavior. I think we are getting more cutthroat. In a vacuum, there is nothing horrible about that. But it does not necessarily reflect something I enjoy.

I'm sorry Matt for arguing so much and not talking to you privately, rather than getting into an silly argument publicly that accomplished nothing. I'm really haven't move much from my stance on these issues, but things are what they are. Sorry to the league for the drama.

For now, I am resigned. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Thanks everyone for the fun times. When it's not fun anymore, it's time to go.

Bottom line is this: I don’t have all the answers. I do the best I can. And yes, I’d rather stop being a Commissioner than have you leave, and frankly maybe I’m not doing what needs to be done.
