California 2029.7 - Another Droplet Signed

Longtime Grasshopper reliever Ivan Romero will be wearing a California Crusaders uniform for the next two (option for three) years. The 28 year old righty sports a fastball/slider combo that serves him well against right-handers. He also thinks he knows how to throw a change up. Interestingly he has fared even batter against lefties to the tune of a career 2.33 ERA (compared to his career mark of 2.65). The contract will pay Romero 1.875 million per year. "I'm happy to be joining the Crusaders' bullpen. They've got a veteran bunch of guys that understand the job. That always makes it easier to adjust to a new club."

Romero will likely slide into a middle relief role, in front of Angel Rivera and Terrence Miller who are the incumbent setup guys. However, the Crusaders have been tying with the idea of going to a more hybrid like leverage based system than a traditional middle, setup, closer which could shake things up a bit. With this signing, the Crusaders are likely done addressing their bullpen for the offseason, and look to focus on addressing their needs at 3rd/SS, C, and OF.

I hope so. His ratings have really never backed up his performance, but a career sub 3 ERA is pretty nice.

Not a bad signing. He could probably start in Madison. and Likely fail. I need more guys with contracts under $2 million.
