California 2023.9 - Crusaders open HOF

Please sticky the other post.

The California Crusaders opened their team Hall of Fame today, honoring those individuals who displayed excleence either on the playing field or for the franchise. In the inaugural season, rather than hold a vote as we will in the future, we simply put the best hitter and pitcher in franchise history in. In future years we will release a ballot and take the top two vote getters.

The hitter was easy. Billy Wilson is the best catcher of the first 50 years, and probably still better than any of today's offerings. The pitcher was harder as the best two pitchers in Crusaders history are probably still playing. So we went with early day strikeout workhorse Narciso Jarilla. who won 15 or more games 5 times despite starting his career in 1973 at 28 years old. He still leads the team in strikeouts and K/9 innings for a starter.

See the actual HOF for details.
