Pitcher of the sim:
SP Paul Kimzey
The team may have started out cold but this native Alaskan started on a hot streak. 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA and 13 k's in 14 IP. This included an Opening Day victory over rival Vancouver and their stud pitcher Shane Wookey.
Batter of the sim:
LF Ian Botham
.325 AVG with only 1 HR but 10 RBI's.
Well California started the season excellently with a 5-0 shutout of Vancouver and then the wheels fell off. A dissapointing 3-7 record is made worse by the fact that C Oscar Mazzarella will be laid up for 4 weeks with a thumb injury and all star caliber CF Ryan Sittler is down for 5 weeks with a forearm strain. C Montes Mendosa and CF Balduin Gustafsen have been recalled from AAA Clash City to vill the voids.
The pitching staff has done an ok job so far but its Cali's offense that has let them down. The offense will rebound so look for a better record for California over the next few sims if the pitching staff can at least be average.
