August 2017 Hitter of the Month
Jorge Castillo - The slugging 1B/DH won his second Hitter of the Month award this season. During August he hit .267 with 6 HRs and 18 RBI while posting an .872 OPS.
August 2017 Pitcher of the Month
Mark Rose - The #5 starter in the California rotation is making a case for 2018 as being the #2 starter after winning his 3rd Pitcher of the Month award of the season. In August he finished 3-1 in 6 starts with a 2.23 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP.
August 2017 Dud of the Month
Allen Kennedy - It was difficult picking a Dud of the Month in August as there really wasn't a player that was awful during the month, but we decided to go with Kennedy who finished the month 3-3 with a 5.84 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP.
August 2017 Minor League Hitter of the Month
Bartholomew Bailey - California's top hitting prospect Bailey, had an excellent month of August for AA Compton. During the month he hit .387 with 5 HR and 17 RBI while posting a 1.125 OPS.
August 2017 Minor League Pitcher of the Month
Gow Cho - Another California top pitching prospect wins the award in August. Cho went 3-1 in 4 starts with a 1.91 ERA while posting a 0.88 WHIP for A Hollywood.
