Keeping the Faith: Resurrection To Resurrect Popes Hopes? (2065.1)

With free agency being described as a "dud" and "2016 NBA Free Agency Class" levels of disdain amongst the front offices, the Mad Popes decided to make Resurrection Santos their marquee free agent signing. The veteran outfielder brings plenty of accolades as a player who at worst is going to be a 2 WAR player and championship pedigree. The Mad Popes now are going to boast a potential outfield that includes two superstars, 2 rising young stars, and should be the the heartbeat of a team that intends to win right now.

The Mad Popes have been radio silent during this offseason, but that is because they have developed a plan to win. The reputation of Ben Heuring is one of failure, choking, and frankly ineptitude. The goal is before the cap crunch comes to throw everything at winning. Heuring has been criticized in the past for spending a lot of money, but as Phoenix showed all you need is to have the right team and get a chance to win. As far as the Mad Popes are concerned, it is better to push all the chips in so that there are no regrets.
