Keeping The Faith: Mad Popes Add Kawano To A Scary Good Rotation (2063.3)
The Mad Popes in 2062 had 4 starters who produced over 2 WAR, and the rotation was already going to be one of the best in the league. But as it turns out, new President of Baseball Operations Ben Heuring has decided that with a very good defensive and offensive base in place, the way for the Mad Popes to take the next step is to further strengthen the pitching to play to the strengths of their home ballpark. In a move that the Mad Popes wanted, they can proudly announce the signing of Sakutaro Kawano for 6 years.
Kawano was the number 1 target for the front office after the transition. The 34 year old is a veteran who has been a very good pitcher, but has only been to the postseason once. With the defensive structure of the Mad Popes and a young bullpen that has the potential to shorten games, Kawano is going to be joining a team that is ready to win now.
Ben Heuring was not surprisingly very happy about getting his man to sign. "To bring in Sakutaro to round off a rotation with the talent we already had is going to be incredible. Every single series we have is going to feature us rolling out elite pitcher after elite pitcher. Combined with the deep bullpen that we added to this offseason, our fans are going to enjoy seeing how this super rotation and super bullpen works out. If you love watching great pitching, Sacramento is the place to be this year."

It really would be fine if you stopped improving the team.

At least Kawano is Popular. I lost 6 when "fair"ly popular Jon Brown signed elsewhere.

Agreed, although I want to say I only gained 1 FI point when we acquired Kawano last year. The net loss hurts.

RMO got +17 Fan Interest. This stupid game is so bipolar. Each version is like a making a right turn from the left lane cause you almost missed the exit.
Congrats to Ben on the signing. Looking forward to see what you can do with a pocket full of cash.

Let's hope that I have better luck than the Tigers super rotation in the early 2010's.
