Crusaders Claim League's Best Record for the Second Straight Year
Oct 5th, 2036
Offen Sichtlich der Kunstgriff

Hello friends! Offie here. I decided that this season, riding high on the wings of last year's championship, I'd just watch. No blogging, no hyperbolizing, no worrying ... well, okay, no worrying in public. I always worry a little. I'm trying, but ... ahem. Okay! So we did it Crusaders fans! 106 wins! ONE HUNDRED AND SIX! See if you can guess what the highest win total for a Crusaders team has ever been. What? You say 106? You're right! Congrats! Now, if you're a regular ready of this column, or perhaps a true blue Crusaders fans like one Offie, you know that the franchise has NEVER eclipsed the 100 win mark before. Never! Until now. Hooray for the Crusaders! Hooray for us! Perhaps Huzzah even!

Now we anxiously await the winner of the Omaha San Fernando series, to see who we will play in the Doubleday round. I want to think, "Offie! Don't be greedy. You won a championship last year. You can't be disappointed in your beloved Crusaders don't go all the way this year." But ... but .. well ... winning is so .. addicting. you want more. We could go back to back! Wow! I mean, we were really really good this year. Do you know who the last back to back Landis champs were? I don't. Let's see ... that would be the Las Vegas Hustlers. THIRTY YEARS AGO! 2005 and 2006.

So yeah. Offie is greedy. He wants two. We scored the most runs in the Frick. We had the best starting rotation. The best bullpen. We have clutch hitters like Fernando Moreno and Esteban Cuervo. We have Gracia, Ramos and Mercado. We field. We steal bases. We hit home runs. It can be done Crusaders fans! Believe it!

As long as you don't SUCCEED in not blowing a 3-1 lead, I'll be happy. Really, I'd rather play you. Omaha has too many right handed power hitters for my liking.
