GM Hopkins broke his long MBBA silence to announce an earth-shattering trade today...Ace AAA pitcher Mike McGrevey has been sent to the Midwest pennant chasing Des Moines Kernels in return for top outfielding prospect Junior Felix and a fourth round pick in the 1996 draft.

"There's no such thing as a minor deal,"announced Hopkins,"It takes as much guts to pull the trigger on that small deal as it does the big ones."

"I never liked McGrevey anyway...now I gotta get somebody to take freakin' JFK Jr. off of my hands."

The Talons are mired in a disapointing third place in the Johnson League, Midwest division standings, with a 39-48 record, 11.5 games back of the pennant leading Chicago Black Sox, and 11.5 back in the wildcard race. Injuries can be blamed in part for Phoenix's slow start, with reliable catcher Theo Epstien going down to a season ending injury 21 games into the year. Superstar George Peralta has also missed a ton of games due to several lingering injuries.

But the immediate outlook is looking very very good according to GM Hopkins,"We're 7-3 in our last ten, and I just got a new starting centre-fielder today, who's hitting over .400 for the year! We're starting to gel, and the clubhouse is really starting to come together. I say, look out Chicago, because we're coming for you."
