Yellow Springs Mayor To Award Front Office Medal of Honor
In a situation that can only be described as a charitable effort on par with the US throwing their hats into the ring to help Britain and France in World War II, the Yellow Springs Nine front office announced they were sending team captain Bob Frazier to the Louisville Sluggers.
“We’re not sure that city can be saved,” said new assistant general manager Fred Morrison, “but it was an operation we had to undertake if we were going to be able to live with ourselves.” Frazier is a guy with a big bat and a heart to match. He’s been a clubhouse star as well as solid on the field. “He’s a great guy and a very good player,” Morrison said. “But there’s a helluva lotta stank on the city, so we’re worried that the job will overwhelm him.”
The club will also send minor league center fielder Chad Holmes with Frazier.
“Every war hero needs a bat man,” Morrison said.
In return 21-year-old AAA center fielder Abdeljilill Sediki will jump onto the Nine’s life boat after being saved from disaster on par with the TItanic.
“That was close,” Sediki said. “I almost had to play in Loserville.”
Sediki is a kid in the mold of a classic center fielder and, assuming he can play in the big leagues soon, is expected to represent a quantum leap in the team’s defensive profile. The acquisition leaves in question the status of current center field prospect Michel Noel, a factor that Morrison called “a good problem to have.”
