Nine Owner Predicts Landis Title


Despite predictions from various sources that tag the 2037 ballclub to register between 81 and 85 victories this year, team owner and Hall of Famer Bo Jordan has a different message to send to fans around the world.

“I sat down with Ron (GM Ron Collins) and told him that we’ve got to win it all this year,” Jordan told SportsNeep Weekly during a recent interview. “I know these guys. They’ve got the hunger in their eyes.”

When asked if he was serious, Jordan doubled down.

“I didn’t bring this group of coaches and front office personnel together just to flap our jaws. The city of Yellow Springs, and the state of Ohio are ready to erupt, and I think we need to give them that chance. I've already asked the city to prepare a parade route, and set aside budget for extra security.”

It’s a story that has circulated in several other arenas, including those who consider that Jordan might well be gearing up for a run for the presidency in 2038. “The bar was set at sub-sea-levels back in the late teens, and hasn’t raised up very far since,” Jordan explained. “I don’t see how I could do any worse.”

Some think he’d be a home-run of a choice, and that having a Landis-winning team under his wing might well augment his chances. That said, the seeds he’s trying to plant are a pretty wild collection and face some considerable difficulties, not the least of which is that the team is full of kids who are in their low-20s, and that the clubhouse culture is still adjusting to the separation of several key cogs.

“I understand what Bo’s looking for,” Collins said diplomatically when asked if the Nine can win it all. Then his personal assistant handed him a handful of extra-strength Tylenol, and he downed them in a single swallow.

Bo's prediction off to a rough start. And there wouldn't be a presidential election in 2038. Would have to be 2036 or 2040.

These types of quotes and mistakes will clearly hurt his chances in politics down the road, right?
